Again wikipedia.org's definition of Respect is one we agree with:  Respect is the objective, unbiased consideration and regard for the rights, values, beliefs and property of all people.

There are few cities in the world that are evolving to understand this, and Los Angeles is certainly one of them.  As we "Angelinos" become a more and more divers people, the "unbiased consideration and regard" for each other is in fact evolving.  This is a course that can not be stopped. 

We begin to instill this in our recruits from the first day of training.  During recruit training, recruits learn that respect is given and received.  However, before being able to give respect, you must first have it for yourself.  You must respect yourself before you can respect someone else, and only then will you be able to recognize and receive it.
