Thirteen weeks of misery, thirteen weeks of torture, and thirteen weeks of loyalty to complete the degradation of recruit training. There are not many who have completed a boot-camp who will argue that it is not one of the most rewarding experiences in life. This experience not only takes courage and commitment to complete, but a great sense of belief and loyalty in the organization that also encourages you to believe in yourself. This learned sense of loyalty is not only for organizations that one feels a connection to, but a greater sense of loyalty to oneself. Being true to ourselves in the face of conflicts, struggles, and obstacles is what makes every young marine an asset to themselves. Semper Fi!
